We went out to Henrys, it was to wet, they didn’t thresh, we had lunch, dinner, lunch, corked plum jam & baked pie shells & cake.

It is cloudy & raining this morn. again. We made little garden, planted beans, lettuce. Papa & Rosalia went out to Uncle Freds got the mule again. canned 2 qts plum & cooked jelly. The lady delivered the pottery what we ordered the other day for $1.35, it looks alright. Papa is working corn with the mule & Uncle Freds mare. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary where up this afternoon, for lunch & supper, he helped went down with his car to Joe Gregsons & got the rest of wheat.

Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary where here for chick dinner; a man here bought 4 doz. eggs @ 12¢; it rained all afternoon in showers, no ball game, the married men where to play Blue Caps. Jonny Whiteside’s little 5 yrs. old girl died, got operated on appendix, & died, the funeral will be tomorrow afternoon, & also Joe Huber, the auctioneer died & be buried tomorrow. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came & Rosalia & Berti rode along down to John Whiteside, but they didn’t have the girl at home, on account of roads, she is at Kochs undertaking parlor, so we went there to see it, looks pretty, dressed in white, her name is Dorthy, a 5 yrs. old; there where few people came in & out, while we was there, about hr. Some people wanted egg.

We all went out to Henry’s threshing, but it rained before they got started, & rain all day, so a few where there for morning lunch, & the rest went home. We where there for lunch & dinner, then went home, & what a time! stuck here & there, had to push nearly all the way across the hills. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came to Hecker first, planted beans, pickles & etc, then went home. Harry Kammler is giving a dance to nite, but not much doing, Dixie Blue Bloys mussic [sic], it is still raining. We cut in about 1 gal kraut; what we took along out to Leona’s & back.

Baked bread, cake, cleaned. Papa had to go down to Ed Pabst’s threshing there this afternoon; he got load wheat, & Rosalia & Bert went along down this evening & got another load, & the rest Joe Gregson took along home with him; it was 77 bus. what we got, from Pabst’s. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came took the rest of there peas, onions out; wheat is 91¢ today.

We washed a few things ready for threshing; cleaned Uncle Fred’s house up here. It’s rather warm again today.

Scheider put up hay, George Wagner & Hecke, helped the kids. A man was here selling a paper Extension Service 25¢ mo. for the students of priesthood & chapels, where they have no churches; another was here selling Lords Prayer & Verse. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came here then went threshing by Ronnerberg; Rosalia got another 100 lbs. flour, twin roses from Eichenseer, $2.75. Chas. Jung got 8 doz. eggs 11¢. We took the mule out to Uncle Fred’s this evening. Papa & George Wagner alterered [sic – altered] our little piggies this evening.

Rosalia & Bertille went out washing at Leona’s today had dinner & lunch. Uncle Fred was here, he brought some papers here & had to get things for threshing at Oscar Birkners. & take Leona along out; they have them there for supper. Lots of cars passing by today. Kleber threshed over at Mengs; everybody was shooting in town this evening; Ed Scheinder was here.

We washed, ironed, took our onions out, it nice this morning, cool. 7 pigs born tonite. Scheinder kids cut hay, rake & piled it here today, papa helped them; eggs 10¢. flour is going up.

Rosalia, Bertille, Mamie, Pete went down to the ball game this afternoon Kochs bakeries playing Hecker, 14 to 0 in favor of Belleville, they just played about half, it was to hot. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary where up for supper, & evening. It got cooler tonite.
