Today is Josie Gregson’s birthday.  She will be 50 years old.  Rosalia & Bertille washed today.  There was an inquest at Smithton yesterday afternoon for George Heyl.  They pronounced it accident.  There was a dance at Gregson’s this evening.  Some people from their corner were there.  Blackburn and the other bunch were at Sensel’s, there was a dance and birthday there too.  We didn’t have no invitation for either one, so we stayed at home.  Eggs are only .19¢.  Wheat $1.00.

Sunday, May 4, 1930

Papa & Bertille went to first mass this morning.  It rained a little, it is supposed to rain seven Sundays because it rained on Easter Sunday.  Today is Olivia Laut’s birthday.  Papa, Rosalia, Bertille, Uncle Fred, Aunt Mary went to the play and dance at Kammler’s hall.  The name of the play is “What Happened to Braggs.”  It was 3 acts.  That that were in the play are: Milton Wagner, Ralph Rausch, Henry Wieg and Ralph Wiegand, Henry Spalt, Karl Ball, Alvera Jatho, Marcella Ettling, Eunice Blackburn, Flossie Kammler.  They had the play in the afternoon too.

Today August Blackburn’s birthday.  Bertille went up town this morning to get the mail.  Papa is settling posts & Steve Rheinecker came over by him a little while.  We found 23 eggs today.  Ed L. Parker was visited by a little stork the other day, a girl.

Sunday, January 5, 1930

Henry & Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary were here.  In the afternoon, Papa, Rosalia, & Bertille went to Uncle Fred and Aunt Mary for supper.  On Sunday nite August Blackburn had a dance but we were not invited.
