Mary Fahey of Red Bud & John Dougherty of Renault were published for the 3rd time, wedding mass to be Tues. morning May 8. & Linus Merz of Red Bud & girl from [blank] were published also 3 rd time. Uncle Fred was by Louis Birkner this morning, who is sick with bad cold, fever & chills. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up, then we went to Tiptown to euchre party, Aunt & Bertie didn’t play, the rest did, played 6 games. Rose won 5 got jar honey. 13 tables with euchre & pinochle & bunco & 13 prizes. Oh! some euchre; we stopped at Uncle Adam’s on way home, his birthday 85 yrs. old, they had so much company today, Levi & Joe Gregson’s, Lesters & family J. Myersough of Ruma. Papa asked Emil to help build & Cleveland also. Henry is sick, has fever & stomach trouble, got a tooth pulled Sat.

Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came over then went home, they stayed in town over nite. Papa & Rosalia gathered up those barrels sitting along the streets. We got a battery for the chev, $4.95 with the old one, got it from Ed. Neff. We paper flower pots; did cleaning. In the Waterloo Paper, it gives all the names of farmers & how much wheat acreages they can sew this year; Harold Hellmer & Clara Treasa [sic? – Teresa] Bertram where married at St. Peter & Pauls Church Wed, at 8 o clock; the attendants where Learord [sic? – Leonard] Bertram & Lucine Hellmer, brother & sister of the bride & groom & the wedding also of Lydia Osterhage & Otto Susewind, last Sat. at the Evangocial [sic] church, the attendants where, Lavina Susewind, & Awred, & Clarence, & Adel Osterhage brothers & sisters of bride & groom; going to live with Mrs. Susewind. Hellmers are going to live on Flower St. Waterloo. Miss Mathilda Schilling & Mrs. Slyvester Miller gave Miss Bertram a miscellanous shower, last Tues. evening, prizes where awarded to Eugenia Hellmer, Mouras [?] Schilling & Miss Bertram playing bunco.

Rosalia & Bertille went to church this morning. It is raining again this morning. Papa went to Waterloo today. Bertille mailed the letter to Chicago Mail Order. Bertille got the mail & then we went down to see Deuker’s. They had company from St. Louis for a little while. Miss Mason the teacher from the upper school was also there. We 5 played ruma and then we played bunco.
