Henry stopped in got crushing done. Bert [Bertille] baked cream pie. Rose [Rosalia] brought qt. milk last nite. Mr. John Horn of here died this morn. at 7 o’clock, we seen Quernheim’s come out to get him. Wm. Ganley came on business. We & Emil went out to Henry’s this afternoon. Hess & Cleveland helped yet to cut corn fodder for chop for feed; we had supper there. This eve. we went to Rob. Lauts; Rob & pap lost every game pinochle but 1; had popcorn, coffee cake, wine; seen the plans for Rob’s new house 28 x 32 its going to be. Tonite is Pres. birthday balls some places. Masquerade at Floraville.

Pap went out in woods all day; took dinner along, Levi Gregson looked at our pigs. Telephone line men was here, tree on the line below here, interfered with line, wanted to see if it was alright to cut it down. Mr. Louis Metzger of Floraville died 83 yrs. old said over radio. We went to Jac. Orlets tonite, Leo & Rose [Rosalia] came also, we played 5 hand & 6 hand pinochle; kids went to bed.

We went to Waterloo, pap ordered an overcoat from Priper [?- unclear] $13. Bert [Bertille] went along with Wagner’s to Floraville, to Hilda Keim’s & Horn wedding dance, at Keims hall awful large crowd. girls played musci [sic].

Cold 20 to be 16 tonite. Schmidt delivered egg mash & articles. Triple birthday dance at Keims at Floraville tonite. Bert [Bertille] got mail & paid the bill. Henry & family came this eve.; we played 2 games pinochle. Snowing a little.

Armistice Day. H. Wittinauer’s boy stoped [sic] in this morn. Sure warm weather for this time of year. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came this afternoon. Lerna [unclear – could be Leona?] Meng came over to see them. Uncle went to Stahlehebers to see John, he is home today from Woodriver Ill. Mrs. Mehrmann got 5 doz. eggs @ 28¢. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came Bert [Bertille] went along to Floraville to Bocker’s free dance, music by Cowboys of Alton, pretty nice, bass fidale [sic – fiddle], guitar, banjo & fiddle. pretty nice crowd, present; Och. formerly Smithton boys now of Alton.

John Braun came talking oil leasing again. Wagner kids got ½ bu. sweet potatoes 50¢. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came Bert went along to Floraville to Keim’s wedding dance of Clarence Keim & Lydia Doerr, attendants were Miss Keim & Horn boys Waterloo; such crowd received few presents; bride had blue dress. Henry & Billy [Willis] came, brought beef up. 55¢ for us & A. [Aunt] Mary he as roast & ours soup. 16 & 18¢ he sold it for; at Waterloo. Ed. Scheinader was the butcher. Pretty cold froze ice last nite.

Went to mass, 7:30 from now on. Ettling from Floraville looked at horses. Leo & Rose came, had dinner & supper here. Gusta Dudenhoeffer & Margaret were here short while, out at Maniers dropped down see how we all were. Pete Matzenbacher had shooting match this afternoon. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came Bert [Bertille] went along to Paderborn Totsch’s free dance & fish fry, Rheinhardt & Schoenborn, Geodelle & Bocker musci [sic] Och. large crowd. there is free opening dance at Brezzy [sic] Hill by A. Josten of Valmeyer who now has charge, Mr. & Mrs. Maul moved back to St. Louis. KMOX Radio Stars playing at Oak Grove.

Henry was here, got crushing done. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came pap went along to Muskoph sale by Floraville & Milsdaldt [sic]. Rained a little last nite. Most people starting sew wheat today. Uncle Fred & A. Mary had supper here, went along with us to Pautler’s tonite, Standard Oil Co. is giving a free show “Stan” & free dance upstairs, musci [sic] by Radan Och. sure crowd the show was in the pavilion. Wienhoff & Schmidt have built a new garage & opened today, if you buy 5 gals. gas, get qt. oil free, today only.

Went to Red Bud; Fr. prayed for the sick of the parish. Leo & Rose [Rosalia] came had dinner here, brought samples of apple butter, tastes pretty good; they went out to Henry’s this afternoon, get haircut. Floraville have church pinic [sic] & annual home coming today. there is Holy Name Society Rally held at Mascoutah today, for all parishes. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came about 3:30 o’clock, Bert [Bertille] went along to Floraville pinic [sic], till about 9 came home again, didn’t win nothing raffled 7 quilts, went to Waterloo, Millsdadt [sic], Belleville & St. Louis.

Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary stayed awhile, had pumpkin pie. We went to Orlets this afternoon, went to New Hanover looked at pig self feeder at Geo. Lehr’s, pap bought one $17.00 delivered; we had supper by them. Uncle Fred & A. Mary came Bert [Bertille] went along to Totsch’s paderborn free dance & fish fry. music by Jake Schoenborn, Clemence Rheinhardt & Ray Geodelle & Gerhardt, Skaer’s are out, had fallen out last nite at Floraville, on account of the trial that Schoenbrook Bill Rehling had, Skaers held up for Rehling had a big crowd there. Hecker also had baseball dance, not so hot Schmidt played; not many people there, some left & came up there.
