Washed, ironed. Had chicken soup. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came this afternoon, papered sides, still ain’t finished only half. Planted all flowers up took them in basement. Rained a little shower, warmer. Burdforf looked at our pig yesterday, also went out to look at Henry’s heifers. Gaven came got 37½ lbs. 2 hams. @40¢ & ½ bu. sweet potatoes 50¢.

We cleaned front & bedroom today, little cloudy & rainy. Schwarz from Mound Ill was here selling apples we took 2 bus. 75¢. winesaps Roman Beautys & 1 bu. twigs 65¢, half for Leona. Uncle Ret’s [?] birthday. Al Gauen came & got 2 hams 24½ lbs. 35¢ & ½ bu. sweet potatoes 50¢. Berti baked molasses cookies. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary went to Belleville to Breautigams funeral from Gunlack chapel to cemetery. Papa used mullin leaves this evening for the first time.
Thursday, Sept. 15, 1932
We & Aunt Mary went to Belleville, & Rosalia got a red dress for $4.77 & hats 59¢. Mrs. Wm. Birkner was here a little while. Lavern Keorker was going around town selling apples $1.00 bu. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary went to the Rod & Gun Glub [sic – Club] House tonite. Mrs. Probst is celebrating her birthday there. Henry & family came up this evening, she took a basket tomatoes along home. The Farm Advisor Hughes is going to vaccinate his hogs for him Sat. morning & ours too. We sold 2 of our hams one 19¼ lbs. & 21 lbs. @ 15¢, Kolmier & Winkler of Waterloo got them. Papa got a glass of molasses this eve, at the factory, he hauled cane again this afternoon.
