Papa went to see John Myerscough at Ruma; he made a trade with him, got 2 cows & calf, on our mare & $10.00; delivered this afternoon. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary & Berti went to Belleville this morning. Raining all day. Welli Doyle was here looked at the harrow that pap has for sale; also looked at the heifers & horses. Henry killed a beef today, sell it tomorrow at Waterloo.

Cooked kettle soap. A man here wanted to clean cess pools. Fournie bros. here wanted to know if Uncle Fred still had his spring harrow for sale yet, they went out there. Henry & Leona came up he broke a piece on his harrow. Papa hauled wood. Henry came got the rest of the hay. We went out to Uncle Fred’s took them along to Paderborn euchre; Pap & Bert each got pillow cases, 10 points the rest got nothing had 7 points; played 14 games & dance after musci [sic] by Rheinhardt’s; nice prizes, quilt was raffled to a Smith from Waterloo; large crowd there.

Today is sales all over again. Mrs. Hirst, Fred Schaefer and many others. Papa is spreading lime this morning. This afternoon we all went to Mrs. Hirst sale. Papa bought a harrow for $1.50. Roy Staunbiel bought a bed and we had to haul it up to Jennie Coop’s for them. This evening we took the spring wagon out to Roy’s and from there we went to Uncle Fred’s and took them along & then we went to Hy. Ronedebergs dance. Beer, cake, fruit salad were the refreshments. There is also a dance at Bill Probst’s tonight too. John Reheis have one by Burksville too.
