Cloudy again all day. Leo & family came this afternoon, brought load corn down, coming back tonite again to catch chickens & ship them of; Lengylon on Milsdadt was at Mertz’s at time, so sold them to him; heavy 11 1/2 & light 9 1/2 – 1/2 [cents] lower then market price, had 290 lbs. heavy & 122 light. We had ice cream this eve.

Bert [Bertille] baked cookies, pumpkin pie & cake this morn. patched. Its hot again yesterday it was 98. Seen in paper that Joe Lengyl of St. Louis, she being Ethel May have a baby boy second boy now, also seen that Mrs. Eugene Fahey is going to teach Oak Grove School this term; she didn’t teach last yr. living in St. Louis. Mr. & Mrs. Otto Stadel nee Miss Norman Geodelle have moved household articles & 8 head horses by train to Waterloo, going to move with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jac Geodelle in Geodelletown, came from South Dakota. Hy Burckardt of Waterloo is going to start the Oak Grove Tavern now. Clifford Stahelheber wrecked his roadster last Sat. nite near Marrissa, hit into another car, he has a scratch on his chin; but now another car driving around already. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came awhile & Emil; It rained a little & thunder.

Pap got crushing done. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came this afternoon, pap went along with them to sale, by Valmeyer, & at Tipton – Joe Lengyl; bought crocks. 1-4 gl – 2- 2 gals. – 1 gal. 65 [cents] cheap. Bert [Bertille] went to Rose’s [Rosalia], cut lawn etc. Leo worked the horse this afternoon. Weber of Smithton, was here on business. Radio isn’t very good this eve.

Fried in 3 gals sausage, Pap hauled wood with wagon, one in basement & 1 small outside. Chick Brand & Val. Braun of Red Bud took the safe & alarm, etc. out of the bank today. The wedding of the Tipton parish on Thanksgiving Day were in the paper today, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Lengyl will make there home at 2823 A. Keokuk St. St. Louis Mo. & Mr & Mrs Gus Fahey at 3108 Abner Place. St. Louis. Mr. Elmer Winkler & Mamie Crook were married at Waterloo parsonage also. Thanksgiving Day wedding dance at Brezzy [sic] Hill. There were 7 wedding dances, in Monroe Co. on that day the paper says.
