Went out to Henry’s took some peaches & tomato out there. Pap cutting grass. Mauff was here. Went to Leo’s took sugar & bottles along made grape juice & took bu. along to sell at Belleville; they aren’t feeling good today. Lucinda Eichenseer was here invited Bert [Bertille] to there place Sat. nite for shower for Mamie; for about 25 guests.

Washed, ironed. Mauff was here took some small peaches for 25 [cents]. & sold bu. to Clara Wagner 80 [cents] clings, she & boys came over & got them this afternoon. We went out to Uncle Freds this eve; took almost bu. along puled them & canned them this eve there; they were threshing oats, Schillings threshing Clem Parkers oats.

Washed ironed, canned pickles, apples, peaches; made peach preserve. Mauff bought bu. peaches for $1. No threshing today. Hy Wiegand was down by tractor. Pautler oil man delivered 5 gal here for Wittenauers. Awful hot this afternoon. Bill [Klein] came pap went along out to Walter Wittenauers, trying to sell him a tractor, he just bought one on Sat. from Mertz don’t think it works very good; the way they said.

Washed, ironed & patched. Pap went to Red Bud to get lumber for wheat bin. Bill [Klein] came told us that Louis Schoenborn & Isd. Watchel had accident last nite at around 12:30 Isd. driving his Louis V8 – run in ditch & turned it over, & Isd. going through top & was killed & Louis has only few scratches, car is wrecked, happened on oil road between Floraville & Paderborn. Isd. is at Millsdadt [sic] Funeral Home 23 yrs. old. Hy Armstutz was here wanted potatoes, we didn’t have none dug now. Mauff kroger man was here, didn’t need nothing. Some are threshing today, anyway south of here Klotz’s threshing today. Leo & family were down. Emil came over a little while.

Raining all day. Bert [Bertille] washed [unclear] is in tubs. Mauff stopped in, got a 10 [cents] oranges. Frischkorn working on his threshing outfit over at Renneckers; today. Cold have fire in range; yesterday & today. Hail places on Sat. We received a copy of Jubliee [sic] Edition of Messenger; yesterday.

Washed, ironed, patched. Eggs 12 [cents]. Cleaned chicken house. Mauff was here. Bill [Klein] brought us strawberries yesterday & Boy! are they good.

Washed, ironed, sprayed trees etc. Mauff agent was here. Wittenauers working here. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary were up working garden, planted out tomatoe plants.

Worked garden, planted house flowers of basement out; nice day gool. Mauff was here, we got oranges & bananas, cut lawn & trimmed it; washed woodwork on back porch, & put screens on, dining room window. Leo & family came brought gal cheese along. Bill [Klein] came also.

Cloudy, with April showers. Pap took chev. to Red Bud, got oil changed etc, 3040 miles. Feruer was here, he signed the apliance paper at Kammlers & so pap had to go to sign. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came, they were at Smithton bank paid taxes. Mauff vegetable agent was here we bought doz. oranges. Leo & family came this eve. They were at Haudrichs wedding dance.
