Papa went to get crushing this morning. Papa & Rosalia went out to Henry’s again today to build on the milk house, they had dinner & lunch there. It rained all day & tonight too. There is a dance down in the Brick House given by Lester Bruns & Ralph Wiegand, we where invited, but didn’t go on account of the weather. Odillo Eichenseer was here & he delivered 100 lbs. flour this morning.

We all went out to Henry’s this afternoon. Papa & Henry started building the milk house. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary where here but there was nobody at home. They came back again this evening a little while before they went to Elmer Parker’s birthday dance, we where not invited, Mrs. Blackburn told them to come. Bertille got the mail today. In the Waterloo Times it was that Jac. Schaefers have a little baby girl. The Misses Rose & Alice Harbough went to Mc’ellester Oklomoa [McAlester, Oklahoma] to visit there sister Elenora. Ed Meng sold his 85 acre farm on Richland Creek last Sat. Henry Kleber of Floraville was the buyer, at about $40. an acre. The Hecker bank was appraised last Sat. morning, the lot & building at $1200, & fixtures $650, Albert Gardner, Emil Hartman, H.M. Hill where the appraisers. There was Central Examination held last Sat. in Hecker Public School by Mr. McCarthy & various schools in Prairie Du Long the teachers present where, Miss Gladys Hull, Miss Hilda Wihelms. Last Friday Mrs. Dan Mendel the barbers wife was taken to E. St. Louis to the hospital for treatment. The John McCarthy farm was sold at Master’s sale last Sat. Dr. N.B. Pautler Dr. for $2500. We had lunch out at Henry’s today.

Bertille baked molasses cookies, & Rosalia is shelling corn this morning. Papa went out to Henry’s to help him measure for a milk house, he wants to make it in the back porch, they say its allright that way. This afternoon Papa & Henry went to Belleville to get the lumber for it. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up this evening for the euchre & dance given by the Y.P.L. in Kammlers Hall. Bill Herzog & his brother Ray furnished the musci [sic], 10 games in Euchre where played Uncle Fred had 6 points & got a Jar of Honey Aunt Mary had 6, & got a pan & a lid, Bertille had 6 got a potato masher. Rosalia had 3 points. Wm. Sensels the assessor was here & sessed Uncle Fred’s property.

We all went to church this morning. Papa went to Red Bud, & he stopped in at John Braun’s. This afternoon Papa went out to help Henry in the woods. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up this afternoon to clean & spade the paths in their garden. Clifford was here & got a setting of Reds’ eggs for 25¢, eggs are 16¢ at the store. Henry came up & him & Papa went to the milk meeting in the new school hall. They also had a milk house on a truck here too, it was 6 x 8 ft. Mrs. Duecker got a spell again this afternoon, they called for the doctor twice.
