Ed Scheinder was here & took a look at the colts. Aaron Papenberg came & invited us out to Geo. Parker’s barn dance, Carol is celebrating her birthday there. The Fahey twins celebrated there birthday at Oak Grove last night, Adm. 25, Papenberg said he was there. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary where her awhile then went home. George Schilling was here to see papa. Mr. Branderburger & also Weber from Red Bud, where here to see the colts. We went out to Parker’s this evening, cake & cookies where served.

Papa & Rosalia went out to Henry’s again today. She has to do the work & watch the kids, Leona has to drive the tractor again. They was there for lunch, dinner, lunch. I seen in the paper that Miss Ursula Havey is going to school at Carbondale. That Judge Scheinder got married to Mrs. Bacblecher, they went for a honey moon trip to Calif. Colrado [sic], & a few other places. Mr. Neheaus the conctrator [sic] from Red Bud & also the Millner’s Husband died & was buried last Sun. at Steelville Ill. Tonight Harry Kammler is giving a dance again. Werner is on the sick list now. This morning I baked 4 pies, 2 cherries & 2 dewberries. There where a good many cars in town tonight & also driving through.

Bertille sold 3 doz eggs this afternoon and got .25¢ a doz. Mr. Charles Rausch a retired farmer now living in Belleville died suddenly this morning at about 2:30. He has four daughters all married, his wife & one brother & four sisters survive him. The funeral will be Tues. afternoon at 1 o’clock to St. Pauls Church in Belleville then to the Hecker cemetery. He lived on a farm 1 mile west of Hecker, until about 12 years ago moved to Belleville where he was living until the time of his dead. Mr. Ed Scheinder is leaving [living] on his farm.
