Rosalia & Bertille, Leona & the kids all went to church. Then Papa, Rosalia, & Bertille went to Belleville with 26 doz. eggs sold 12 doz. for 15¢ & the rest for 20¢. This eve. is meeting for the farmers again in the school hall. Papa is hauling wood this afternoon. He helped Henry fix fence yesterday afternoon. John McCarthy died & will be buried tomorrow. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up this evening. Then we all went over to see there house across the street. Henry & family came too this eve. Henry went to the meeting. Jac. Neff was here this evening & wanted to see Uncle Fred for buying some seed potatoes from him. This afternoon Bertille washed the Chev. & Rosalia spaded a piece in the garden & sewed some lettuce seed. Some people up by Belleville were planting potatoes today already.

Today is Ground Hog day & I guess he saw his shadow & then 6 weeks bad weather. It is so warm. We washed curtains, & ironed this afternoon. This morning Rosalia & Bertille went to church. Bertille got the papers this evening.

Papa went out to work on the church farm again. This afternoon Rosalia & Bertille went out to Aunt Mary’s. Papa came over there too with Uncle Fred. We all had supper there. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary stopped in this eve. before they went down to the dance at Wiegands. The transfer of Anna Braun’s property was in the paper today. It was in the paper about Gregory Neff & Hedwig Watchel, they were married Tues. morning at Paderborn. Alvin Roos & Florence Meuth were also married at Paderborn this week. The license for Elmer Quirin 21 to Lena Roth, Hecker, 22 were in the Times.

Papa & Uncle Fred was working at the church farm today. Papa had dinner out at Uncle Fred’s. This afternoon Uncle Fred brought Aunt Mary up here & then Bertille & her went to the sewing circle. This evening he came up & got her again. There was a man around selling articles today for the orphan children of Belleville. Elmer Kammlers are moving there furniture out today. Osie Neff was here this eve. on business. Elmer Kammler came here this evening & brought the house keys over. He said he moved because the house was to big it took too much coal. We went over to Steve Rennecker this eve. & had 6 games of pinochle. Papa & Rosalia won 5 games.

Today is Mrs. Boll’s birthday. We are going to butchered today. The last one now. Uncle Fred, Aunt Mary, Henry & family were all here for dinner today. Leona when [went] to Red Bud to the dentist this afternoon. We seen in the paper the marriage license of Alven Roos & Florence Meuth, & Gregory Neff & Hedwig Watchel all of Paderborn. Last Sun. Lena Roth & Ed. Quirin were published for the first time in church.

Rosalia was at church this morning. Today is Aunt Mary’s birthday she is 54 years old. We went out there this evening. The bunch came and then they danced “what a time?!” Lemonade and cake were served. They left at 12 o’clock. We got our invitation for a dance down at Wiegand’s house next Friday night, Clem Parker & Aaron Papenberg are giving it. It sure is a heavy fog this evening. Talk is out that Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary had a farewell party tonight & Feb. 1 they are going to move to Hecker. Adam Eckert rented the Kaiser farm east of Hecker where Joe Herzog is now living. Christ Buehler intends to rent Mrs. Threfall’s farm.

Henry & Leona & kids were all here for dinner today. This afternoon Philip & Bill came and we went out to Henry’s for supper. The pews in church were rented this morning. Today George Vonderheit of Red Bud was buried, he was a old man & used to live out by Hecker.

Rosalia went up to church this morn. Mr. Caldwell was here & from here he went to Waterloo. Papa & Uncle Fred went to Waterloo this afternoon. Aunt Mary, Rosalia, Mamie went to the quilting in the new school hall. There were 14 there. It is just like spring today, so warm. This evening we, & Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary went out to Henry’s. We had a six hand pinochle game, men against the ladies, the men won all 3 games. There was a picture of 4 generations in the Sunday paper, they were Mrs. Hy Geodelle, Mrs. Adam Matzenbacher, Frieda Grohman & her baby Arlene. There was also a picture of Lucy DeMint dancing [with] pupils. Blanche & Rose Mary Crowe is also in it.

Bertille was at church this morning. Papa was up town this morning. This afternoon him & Rosalia went out in the woods. Henry went too. There were 2 fellows here this afternoon from Collinsville & wanted to buy timber. But Papa wasn’t here, so if he is interested he should send them a letter. Rosalia made herself a apron today.

Henry & family were here for dinner today, after that we played pinochle. Papa & Leona won against Henry & Bertille. Angela Eichenseer was here this afternoon, then Rosalia & Angela & Papa & Bertille we won 4 games out of 5 that one we lost. Fr. Grootens has a sermon about the bank this morning. He said the Waterloo Bank. Jas. Schmidt, Roy Gauer, Dr. Pintler & him were going to Springfield tomorrow & find out about it. This evening Angela came back again then we played 2 more games of pinochle & Rosalia & Angela won both of them. We heard today that Rosie & Mamie Meuth left Joe Meuth’s last Tues. evening, walked off & went to Waterloo. There are a good many cars passing tonight I guessed there all going to the dance down at Wiegand’s, we were invited, but didn’t go. It rained all day.
