Nice day, cold. Emil came said pap could ride with him to funeral, Reunker went along also, down to house of Hy. Stahleheber, with service in Evangical [sic] church, then to Village cemetery.

Armistice Day. H. Wittinauer’s boy stoped [sic] in this morn. Sure warm weather for this time of year. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came this afternoon. Lerna [unclear – could be Leona?] Meng came over to see them. Uncle went to Stahlehebers to see John, he is home today from Woodriver Ill. Mrs. Mehrmann got 5 doz. eggs @ 28¢. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came Bert [Bertille] went along to Floraville to Bocker’s free dance, music by Cowboys of Alton, pretty nice, bass fidale [sic – fiddle], guitar, banjo & fiddle. pretty nice crowd, present; Och. formerly Smithton boys now of Alton.

Last Day of the year & how beautiful, I must say. We went out to Uncle Freds, had dinner & supper there. Clifford Stahelbers wife is in St. Louis at Mt. Rose Sanatorium she has T.B. [tuberculosis]; isn’t well at all, had been steady in bed for 2 weeks. We seen the picture of Walter Stahl & Elvira Qurin in the papers attendants, Edgar Stahl & Viola Quirin, 21 & 19, aged were married at St. Johns Evangical [sic] Church by Rev. Hasto on day before Christmas. Bill Dengarhardt 27, of Bellevile & Rethuermann girl were married yesterday at Cetreville Station by Fr. Keuth, he is Geo. Dengenharts.

Beautiful day, cleaned upstairs, washed curtains etc. Pap went worked in woods this morn; put the brooder stove & fixed the roof on the brooder house, getting it ready for chicks. Mrs. Rennecker got 1 qt. milk. Clifford Stahlehebers have a baby girl born Mar. 14. Mrs. Zita Carrol is ill with plurisy [sic] & heart trouble; Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came for services. We went to Red Bud lent devotion.
