Bert [Bertille] started cleaning house, 1 room upstairs. We sprayed trees this morn. Walter Wittenauer was here on business. Pap went to see Chas. Helfrich. Joe Griffin had twins born dead at Belleville hospital last nite.

Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary’s Wedding Ann. 36th. Frank Birkner’s have a little baby girl since Aug. 20. Mon. Edna & also Jerome Cortner’s, but it was born dead. Light rain nearly all morning. We went out to Uncle Fred’s this evening, Henry & family came too, watermelon, cake, candy were served; the roads aren’t bad.
