Thanksgiving Day. Bert [Bertille] went to church here to wedding mass of Eunice Scheinder & Oliver Fraber guy of Belleville, 2 bridesmaids, dressed peach & old rose with flowers, head bands & shoes to match. bride had white satin with train & long veil; went to wedding dance in eve. at Kammlers Hall. musci [sic] by Belleville Orch. & nice crowd had sandwiches & cake. Thanksgiving Dinner was a big success, sold over 500 tickets, people came from all over. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came down.

Thanksgiving. Rose & Berti went to Red Bud to mass. We all went to Waterloo & then to see Lee Jeffrey at Foster Pond to look at pigs. They have Turkey & chicken dinner & supper at the School Hall, today. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came down awhile; so many people there they say from all over. Dances all over tonite, double birthday at Pautlers Weinhoff’s, & free wedding dance at Oak Grove, & a wedding dance at Donahue’s. Snowed a little today.
Thursday, Nov. 29, 1934
Thanksgiving Day. Rose & Berti went to mass. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary stopped awhile, then went up to help at the Turkey Dinner at the School; all day affair, lotto this afternoon. Eugene Bruns stopped on business. We made ribs & dressing, pumpkin pie, cranberry relish. Leona & Billy came up to meet Miss Klube on the bus this morning, she is visiting out here today. Mr. Roy Pautler & Miss Lavina Goedelle were married at the Red Bud Catholic parsonage this afternoon, Friedrich of Colombia & Winehof of Waterloo married this morning, we went to Wedding dance at Pautlers musci [sic] from Dupo. Jaegher & Minneman wedding couple also attended the dance, were married at priest house. Uncle Fred came down a little while, said there was a nice crowd at the turkey & Lotto this afternoon. It rained again this evening.

Thanksgiving Day. We went to Red Bud church. Then went on to Aunt Mary for chicken dinner & supper, backbones, Iceberg lettuce, cranberries. Oh Boy! Did it taste good; Cream cake, pumpkin pie. Hot Dogs! Hy. Meng came, paid for his hog. 23¢ lbs. at $3.75. Hy & family came left the kids, here & we went along with them to Brezzy Hill to Myrtle Rau, Quentin Schroeder, wedding dance, bride wore white & veil, bridesmaids wore green, blue. Country Club Orc. from there we went to Oak Grove, to Mudd & Hendrick wedding dance, & crowd, Oh My! on both places, string band. Myerscough & Deukers where all there. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary, Josie, came up, so they played, pinochle till 12′ o clock. Henry sends his milk to Waterloo Creamery now.
