Beautiful day, cool this morn. Uncle Adam gets buried this morn. 9 o’clock mass, church & cemetery here. Leo & Rose came, we went along with them to Uncle Adam’s funeral; pretty large, but still a lot of people that weren’t there; to busy time right now, with threshing coming on. Rose & Bert [Bertille] had to say 10 Hail Mary’s before leaving, didn’t have time to recite the rosary they said. Pallbearers were Ed. & Emil – sons & Joe & Levi Gregson brother in laws & Lester & Lee grandchildren; something different. Henry came got some boards. Edwin & Fred Reheis are putting up hay here. Pretty cool evenings the last while. The Bishoff [sic – Bishop] has appointed new priests to take different places today; Red Bud has a get together of parish tonite. Fr. Spors from Johnston City is coming to Red Bud, & Fr. Havey is going to Johnson City. Waterloo is Underkoefler from West Frankfort, & Paderborn is also having a newly ordained one as assistant to Fr. Toennis; who is ill.
