Papa & Rosalia went out & got a load wheat. Mrs. Rennecker has a boarder Ferd [Fred?] Smith. The St. Augustine Parish are having a euchre, lotto, pinochle; tonight; in the hall. We cooked kettle soap. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came, we all went to the euchre, Rosalia had 8 points, she got a glass & plate, the rest of us got nothing had 7 points. Cecilia Coop won attendance prize, pillow cases. Mr. Albert Griffin was fired at the St. Louis Dairy Station here, another guy Smith got on his place. Frank Hilpert’s wedding ann. today.

Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary’s Wedding Ann. 36th. Frank Birkner’s have a little baby girl since Aug. 20. Mon. Edna & also Jerome Cortner’s, but it was born dead. Light rain nearly all morning. We went out to Uncle Fred’s this evening, Henry & family came too, watermelon, cake, candy were served; the roads aren’t bad.

Hy. Birkner’s got a second hand Chev. 1930 model at Belleville today, just like Hy. Clem Parker was here on business. George Parker’s got the baby christened Sun. afternoon James Arthur, Arthur Coop & sister, were sponsors. Oscar Birkner had fish fry Sun. evening. There is a free wedding anniversary dance at Brezzy Hill tonite. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came this morning, had dinner here, him & papa went to Waterloo, he got a new Chev. 1934 model, $568. from W. Nobbe; black weehls [sic – wheels], green body. Mr. Otto Horn was here wanted to sell suits. A lady here selling household goods & toilet. Uncle Fred got $176.00 for his old car & $105 for horse all in the trade. They went to Red Bud to Buehler’s. Jac Erle came & they got the papers insurance fixed out, a new policy. George Wagner & kids, came over to fly kites in our field. We went to Brezzy tonight, Mr. Maul & Perry May’s Wedding Anniversaries, but poor musci, Fisher Orc; nice crowd. Uncle Fred bought ice cream for lunch, this afternoon.

Jos. Schilling pull his threshing outfit up to Ed Kreher’s today, & Oscar Klotz to Louis Voges. Osie Neff drives the engine what Phil Braun had last year; he isn’t going out. Jack Mueth runs it for Schilling’s run. Pete Kreher’s boy from St. Louis, is working for G. Schilling, driving bundle wagon. It is awful hot weather these day, yesterday 100 in shade. Mr. & Mrs. S. Hellmer wedding anniversary, also Arthur Meohrs. The paper says the new wheat in Monroe & St. Clair Cos, will be 80¢ bus. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came, went to Red Bud, got flour, brought papa pair tennis shoes along $1. Henry & family came this evening, got the mule, his horse gave out threshing today, at Pete Reheis, just fell down, is blooted [sic], they say. Eggs 11¢.

Papa & Bertille went out to Henry’s, Nobbe came out & they made a trade, the old binder & the mare, & $150 cash, getting the old binder, tonite, bring the new one 9, o’clock tomorrow, Christ Buehler & kids are here, going to cut wheat, made ½ around, broke double tree; they had dinner here; We all went out shocked our wheat. Papa & Rosalia went out to Henry’s, he helped shock there awhile. We went out to Uncle Freds this evening, took his plow out. Mrs. Bill Fritsche, stopped the saloon keepers from giving Bill, whiskey. that is the third time now. Ed Schilling wedding anniversary 1 yr.

Looks like rain. Henry’s birthday 30 yrs. old. & 6 Wedding Anniv. We went out, took tomatoe [sic] plants along, Cleveland’s, Gus & Dan Geodell’s families were present, cake was served. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up this afternoon, planted 104 sweet potatoe [sic] plants, from Boll. The Catholic School children are having there play & program tonite. Adm. 25¢. Eggs 11¢. It Rained a little this morn.

We ironed, patched. There is a wreath hanging on the bank doors again this year. George Wagner’s wedding anniv. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up this evening & them Rosalia & Bert, went down to Louis Armstutz played 6 hand pinochle, 3 games, Bertille had 600 queens, & didn’t hardly seen them. Mr. Pete Watchel & Levi Ganley where here on business, to see papa, while we were gone.

Henry brought load corn, he was here for dinner, him & papa went to the school house signed the wheat contract today. Pabst brought wheat here; & then signed his contract to. Henry & family came this evening, kids stayed here with papa; & we went along with them to Foster Pond, for wedding anniversary dance, music by Moonlighter’s & a crowd; quite a few that we knowed. Ettling was here, $150.00.

Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary where up, had chicken soup dinner with us, cleaned the garden & things. All nite dance at Breezy, Koehlers Ors. $4 attendance prize, tonite, 5 wedding ann. Oak Grove.

We cleaned bedroom. Bertille got the mail. Mr. & Mrs. Steve Rennecker were here this evening. Mr. & Mrs. John Lippert of North from Hecker, celebrated there 25 Silver Wedding Ann, on Oct. 7 at Daab’s Clubhouse, near Smithon [sic], to which the relatives & neighbors took part.
